Barefoot Mileage
Sunday, September 14, 2008
Went for a 16 mile run across town the other morning. I used my LED light for running the dark gravel road I live on. I strapped it on the front of my camelbak, and set out at 5:00am. NPR was on my mp3 player/radio. I listened to continuing coverage of hurricane Ike. It's funny, each longrun weekend, there is a new hurricane that is getting it's 15 minutes in the limelight.
Also used my gel mixture of jelly and salt thinned down with water. Seemed to work fine. The only other thing I could add to it is some crushed caffeine pills, and some citric acid for extra electrolyte replacement. I'll experiement more in the future.
