18 Miles: I Love Librivox.org & Caffeine Pills

Okay, school schedule is nice and crammed tight. I am studying, doing homework, gigging at night, and sometimes running doubles to fit mileage in. Enter Publix (local grocery store) brand caffeine pills. 200mg of energy in each chalky little pill. It was 5:00am on Saturday and all I wanted was to sleep another 24 hours. While I am a big advocate of sleep, this was one of the only free times I had for an 18 mile run, and skipping is not an option.

So aside from the magical pills I used an audio book to get me going. Librivox.org offers mountains of books as free audio files. My indulgent book was the "Lone Star Ranger" by famous old West author Zane Grey. The miles just seemed to wiz underneath my feet. The audio book really does the trick sometimes.

I ended my run by meeting Jamie at a house across town (in Kelly Plantation) where she was working as a nanny for the weekend. That's it. Another fun run this week.
